Steve Strobel Flying Through Pit #2

Starting Line Day 2

Trophy Truck Race Ends on Day 2

The Strobel Motorsports team launched their race car off the starting line for Day 2 of the 3 day BITD Vegas to Reno race on Friday. Driver Steve Strobel and co-driver John Vance were psyched up for a planned 336 mile run from Tonopah, back south and then eventually turning back around to head north to Hawthorn NV. Unfortunately, various mechanical issues surfaced forcing the truck out of the race at approximately race mile marker 440. The new Trophy Truck continues to get shaken out and the team will redouble efforts to prepare for the next event.

Team Finishing Up Prepping Race Truck for Vegas to Reno

The Strobel Motorsports team has the new "A" motor in the race truck and has already made a few test passes outside the team shop. Just some final tuning and the 800 HP monster will be ready to take on the grueling 950 mile, 3-day Vegas To Reno race starting with Qualifying on Tuesday, 8/18. This race is the longest off-road race in the United States and the Best-In-The-Desert race sanctioning body does a great job getting the course set up.

As always, check back to both this blog and our team website www.strobelmotorsports.com for race week updates and results.

Team Finishes 11th in First TT Race

Driver Steve Strobel and co-driver John Vance crossed the finish line in luxurious Primm, NV in 11th place in the highly competitive Trophy Truck (TT) class on Saturday.

The truck was solidly in 10th place overall after the first 71 mile lap. However, a small mishap at Race Mile 81 slowed the team some. Once the #94 truck was uprighted, Steve wheeled the truck around the final 2 laps in good shape, gaining valuable seat time in the new Trophy Truck.

Thanks VERY MUCH to the Jimco pit support team and especially to John Vance for his co-driving skills. The race planning went well and John persevered through both a large rock coming into the cockpit and hitting him in the chest and 2 flat tire changes.

We believe we're now in good shape as a Trophy Truck team and are very much looking forward to our next race, tentatively scheduled to be the BITD Vegas to Reno extravaganza in August.

Steve Finishes Race!

It was a challenging day with an "easy" roll onto the side at mile marker 81 along with some flat tires. However, Steve Strobel and co-driver John Vance persevered through a challenging day of desert racing. The great news is we now have 216 race miles on the new Chevy Trophy Truck with the team looking forward to their next race. Continue to check http://www.strobelmotorsports.com/ often to confirm our next race and future race results!

Great First Lap, But Then Truck Rolled on Side

Truck looked great through pit 1, but then they had a side rollover at mile 81. The guys got the truck back upright and are once again moving well. More to come.
